When One Is Too Many

The famed One Laptop Per Child Program (OLPC) is losing steam. BBC News is reporting many governments are more concerned with teacher shortages and lack of facilities than getting technology into the hands of its children. It’s true these nations need better access to information. Having the basics to live each day is a higher priority. OLPC should have given the initiative more thought. One laptop per child is a lot right now, especially for place without running water and a school house. Why not get one laptop per teacher first? Help build schools. Don’t depend on the nation’s government to heavily to get information to it’s people.

OLPC is doing something right the first time. They’re offering a Give One Get One program. You purchase two laptops, one is for you to keep the other goes to a child in a developing nation. This how they should have began. For organizations and individuals able to purchase 100 or more laptops they offer a Give Many program.
