EntreCard, Purveyor of Fine 125×125 Ads
Last week Shoemoney ran a post about a new fangled blog widget called Entrecard. Entrecard is works from a credit system to deliver traffic to your blog. Perks include a simple allow/deny system for ad requests as well as RSS feeds of your recent ‘card-dropping-visitors’ and ad buyers. The idea of the whole thing is to drive a little new traffic to your blog while you discover new blogs yourself. I haven’t actually read that second part anywhere on the site but I’m seeing a lot of blogs I’ve never read before so I can go ahead and vouch for the statements accuracy. Oh yeah, the ad credit system doesn’t cost you a thing. You simply visit blogs listed in the system and ‘drop’ your 125×125px card in their blog widgets.
I’ve seen a boost in traffic since signing up last week. I’ve even had a handful of click-throughs on ads I’ve place on others’ Entrecard widgets. I don’t know that folks are reading anything but they are dropping in. The danger with this system is the tendency to hoard ‘card drop’ credits by visiting as many blogs as possible in the shortest time. For those of you interested, my widget is below all the content… scroll, scroll, scroll… good! You made it.
