About a month ago, at work, I was talking to one of our software vendors about problems I had with thier product. For them, standard practice for finding resolution is a screen-sharing session (web conference) where they show me, from thier computer, what to do next and where to look to fix this trouble I was having. While on the phone I’m searching my computer for my copy of the meeting software and I can’t find it. I had the icon on my desktop at least a week before that, where had it gone? I asked if the program had a web-based version of the software, the vendor’s reply was no. I had to use a coworker’s computer to join the screen sharing meeting. Had there been a browser-based version of the meeting software I would have had access to the meeting from my own computer in less than the time it took to run a search for the meeting software.
